Juncus Pallidus, also known as Great Soft Rush, Pale Rush, Giant Rush and Leafless Rush, is native to Southern Australia, New Zealand, Norfolk Island and Howe Island.
It is endemic to Hamilton and surrounds.
Description:
Up to 1.5m tall. Pale green stems.
Flowers:
Many pale yellow flowers, October to January.
Habitat:they are usually found in miost, nutrient-poor soils that are subject to periodic flooding, these areas include swamps, creek bnks, lake edges and sand seeps.
Found in low open forest, sclerophyll forest, grassland plains, tea-tree
heath and the margins of wetlands.
Ecology:
Provides habitat for bird and frog species
