Eucalyptus sideroxylon rosea or red iron bark is a large tree of up to 20 metres which occurs on well drained soils on the western slopes in New South Wales, Queensland and far northern Victoria. Red iron bark is  closely related to Eucalyptus tricarpa which is confined to central Victoria.

 

Eucalyptus sideroxylon rosea is a majestic specimen tree and easily distinguished by its dark red furrowed bark, its grey foliage and spectacular pink flowers in Spring.

 

Red iron bark has hard durable wood.
