Eucalyptus platypus (platypus gum) is small to medium tree growing around 5 - 7 metres in height. it has a rounded form to ground level with thick dense foliage thus indicating that this species is an excellent choice for screening and windbreak applications. It is a robust coastal species and is also extensively planted inland on infertile alkaline sandy soils and well as heavier soils. It is very adaptable species which will grow almost anywhere other that in very wet and cold areas.
