Eucalyptus gunnii or 'cider gum' is a medium to large tree that can grow up to 10 metres, occurring naturally in the central part of Tasmania on flats and adjacent slopes.

The juvenile foliage and coppice regrowth is grey/silver and attractive to florists.

Cider gum is very cold tolerant and is one of the few eucalypts that have been established in cold areas of Ireland, the UK and Northern Europe.
