Dodonaea viscosa (hop bush) subsp cuneata or 'hop bush' is widely distributed subspecies of the highly variable Dodonaea viscosa which occurs throughout the continent. Hop bush is an atractive shrub growing around 2 metres in height and generally upright. It has interesting foliage which has a 'sticky' appearance. Dodonaea viscosa has interesting papery 'hop' flowers which can be various shades of red.
Hop bush adapts well to cultivation and is tolerant of a wide range of soil types and conditions. Hardy and drought tolerant.
