Banksia ericifolia grows as a large shrub up to 6 metres.

More commonly known as Heath leaved banksia.

Can be used in the cut flower industry as it has a orange or red autumn inflorescences , which contrast with its green fine-leaved heath-like foliage making for a beautiful show piece.

Flowering is in autumn, or in winter in cooler areas.

It is most useful as a garden feature or screen plant and it grows fast.

This species has proven to be fairly adaptable, very hardy and tolerant of frosts.

Although it may successfully grow in wet areas, it prefers well drained soils and will grow in full sun or semi-shade conditions.

Remember to water it in after application. Mulch plants with a coarse mulch to keep the roots cool, suppress competing weeds and retain soil moisture when it is dry.
