Acacia Rigens is commonly known as Needle Wattle or Nealie.
This species grows to a height of 6 metres, with bright spherical flowerheads that bloom from July to December.
This acacia grows on red earth, sandy or shaly soils particularly in mallee and woodlands in southern WA, SA, Vic, NSW and QLD.
However they are more dense in the north Western part of Victoria, and south-eastern part of SA.
Acacia Rigens is frost tolerant and drought tolerant as well as being a fast growing plant, they are adaptable to most soils and is best suited to areas with full sun or light shade.
